About
Caissons play a critical role in the structural integrity of offshore production platforms and vessels, with seawater lift and drain being the two primary types. Our caisson sections are made up and installed together offshore using GMC’s compact Make/Break tooling and provide a safe, efficient, time, and cost saving installation service.

Over the years, the challenge of crevice corrosion and pipe corrosion has posed issues for structural and maintenance teams. Therefore, GMC has developed a high-performing mechanical connector designed to overcome crevice corrosion. This connector offers multiple metal-to-metal seals, eliminating the need for elastomers. ISO qualified, the connector incorporates a preload spacer to prevent crevice corrosion. Its configuration can be tailored to meet specific size and material requirements.

Caisson Replacement
The adoption of GMC mechanical connectors is increasingly prevalent for complete caisson replacements worldwide. These connectors eliminate the necessity for welding offshore, resulting in a substantial reduction in offshore construction time.

In collaboration with approved fabrication facilities and vendors, GMC works closely with customers to provide comprehensive caisson replacement solutions. This entails adhering to agreed specifications regarding size, weight, coating, handling, and installation. Whether customers require connector supply only or a complete turnkey solution, GMC offers reliable products and services that enhance structural integrity and maintenance operations.
